We are quickly approaching the when the SAD starts leaving our bodies. Well, at least most of the SAD. Some of the stressy depressy is ever present for some of us.
Seasonal Affective Disorder. It makes you want to stay inside, it makes you feel sad, it keeps you exhausted. You fully believe you don’t suffer from it. Until…the first warm day filled with sunshine occurs after a cold, dark winter. Then, suddenly, life feels possible again. Completing tasks, getting out of bed, spending time with friends, it all feels possible again. It finally feels like time to emerge from the cocoon of sadness to be a motivated butterfly.
It impacts all of us in some form, whether large or small. You aren’t alone, sometimes your brain just tells you that. Invest in a sun lamp, take a vacation to a warm location if you’re able. But most importantly, have some supportive people in your life that can carry you through the SAD when it feels like a little too much.
Until next time – find the sunshine.
