World of Blue

Life can be a little blue sometimes, maybe we can find a little joy together.

Life goals

When you think about setting goals for your future, what drives you to do so? It takes motivation to reach your goals, of course, but it also takes motivation just to set those goals.

A driving force for me is always wanting and expecting better of myself. It took a total of 12 years but I eventually earned my Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, and finally my Master’s degree. At times I think about going back to school to earn my Doctorate. I would settle for becoming a mother, thought. Ha!

I have a goal of owning my own home.

I have a goal of becoming a mother.

I have a goal of starting my own practice.

What is something you believe it takes to reach your goals? I think one of the biggest things – that we sometimes overlook – is taking small steps each day that lead you in the direction of these goals. A lot of little steps will lead to success. As the saying goes, you eat an elephant one bite at a time. I could never eat Dumbo, but I’m sure you understand my point.

As an overthinker it can be difficult to remember this small thing. Small steps each day will get you to the goal. Taking giant leaps before you are ready will likely lead you to fail. I will try to take my own advice and take the small steps.

My hope is that we will all reach at least one positive goal this year.

Until next time – take the small steps.
